These studies clearly demonsrate that cancer cells treated wih tea PolyPhenols Undergo the morphological changes and DNA boion charaCeristic of opPtoic cell death. Further studies by inveStigators in the Purdu UniVesity, U- of Texas Andeson Cancer Center, and Albert Einstein Medical College (N.Y.) show that epigallocatechin gallate (EGCg), one of the tea polyPhenols serves as an inhibitor of tNOX, an enZyme essential to tumor cell growth. However EGCg does not inhibitNOX in normal cells.
